This weekend, artist and craftspeople across the state open their studios for visitors under the auspices of the Vermont Crafts Council. Two artists in Townshend (I don't see any listed for Newfane) are participating.
Jim Jackson presents "7 Decades", a mini-retrospective of his painting, sculpture and mixed media works for an artist in his 81st year of life. Also on display is his "rot garden": sculptures made of natural materials that are designed to decompose in place over time.
329 Windham Hill Road, West Townshend
Kim Eng Yeo will be showcasing her watercolors of flowers, still life and landscapes. "My watercolors are journeys of visual discovery and I invite the viewer to share these moments with me, to derive pleasure from and to reflect upon, the transient beauty of Nature."
628 Peaked Mountain Rd, Townshend
The studios are open Saturday and Sunday, 10 to 5.
