Jennifer James, a senior at Harwood, has been selected by AIST (American International Sports Teams) to represent the USA at the 2015 United World Games for Basketball. The USA Team will travel to Germany, Austria & Italy for international competition June 15-25, 2015. In order to raise money to cover some of the travel expenses we are asking local businesses for donations.

The Waterbury Senior Center has donated their facility for us to have a Benefit Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday, 11/8/14 with 2 seating times - 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. The dinner will include salad, spaghetti, meatballs, bread, dessert & beverages for $15/adult and $5 for children 12 & under. There will be door prizes, a variety of auction items, lots of good food and great company. Please call Pam at 522-7355 to reserve your seating time or if you would like to donate something for the silent auction or baked goods for the dinner. We have received support from several local businesses and many community members and appreciate each and every one of you very much.

History & Future: Jennifer has played basketball all of her life at many different levels and she led the Harwood Varsity Team in scoring as a freshman. During her sophomore year Harwood posted its best record since 2005 and the second best record since 1996! She hopes to set a couple of school records for blocks & rebounds this year. During 2014 Jennifer played for Kerry Lyons, former VT Frost Heaves player & coach, on the Next Level Athletics team. They were successful at several tournaments in CT, MA, RI, and VT and competed in the Jr. Nationals in Washington, D.C. Next year she plans to play basketball for Johnson State College and major in Early Childhood Education & Special Education.
