The Shelburne Memorial Day ceremony will be held on Monday, May 27, 2024, at the Shelburne Veterans Monument. The guest speaker will be COL Roger Zeigler, Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations and Training (G3) and Commander 124th Regiment, Vermont National Guard, during weekend drills. COL Zeigler graduated from Kanas State University in 1997 where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He holds a master's degree in Business Administration and one in Acquisition Management and from Webster University, St Louis. He also holds a master's degree in National Security and Strategic Studies, and graduate certificate in Leadership and Ethics from the Naval War College. COL Zeigler's awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Medal. During his career his assignments ranged from those of command and staff officer position at various levels of responsibility from local duties to Join Force level duties.
