Awareness of Ash Trees: A Walk in the Town of Barre Forest in preparation for Emerald Ash Borer
May 29th, 2024, 4:30 – 6:30 pm
Emerald ash borer (EAB) is confirmed in all but one of Vermont's 14 counties. This invasive beetle will likely kill all untreated ash trees in our yards and towns and change the composition of our forests.
Join representatives from Vermont Land Trust, UVM Extension, and the Town of Barre Recreation Board for a walk at the Town of Barre Forest to learn more about this pest and options for managing ash trees in our yards and forests. We will learn how to identify white ash, the signs and symptoms of EAB, and steps landowners can take to make their properties more resilient to pests like EAB and climate change.
