Volunteers are needed on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 9:00 am to help clean and repair headstones in Riverside Cemetery on River Road in New Haven. The Vermont Old Cemetery Association (VOCA) will be on hand to assist in the cleaning and repair of several headstones. We need your help! There are many headstones in the cemetery that are in desperate need of cleaning / repairing or both.
We need strong volunteers to assist in repairs as well as volunteers to clean headstones.
Items Volunteers should bring if you have them:

Levels
Water bottle
Brick hammers
kneeling pad or short stool
2 or 3 lb. mauls
snack / lunch
Shovels
sunscreen & bug spray
Work gloves / rubber gloves
Tampers
Buckets
Pry bars
Plastic bristle brushes
Wheelbarrows
Plastic scrapers
4x4 wood blocks for tamping
Toothbrushes
Stakes with string for plumb line

Dress in old clothes, bring a full water bottle and help us restore these old headstones. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please do not bring dogs or small children.
