The Waitsfield Conservation Commission is hosting a trail appreciation day at the Scrag Mountain Town Forest on Sunday, May 19th from 1 to 4pm. You'll have a chance to explore and celebrate the new one-mile walking trail and learn about plans for additional new trails.

Here is the schedule:

1:00-1:30: Gather and light refreshments near bridge
1:30-1:45: Brief remarks about the new trails and future plans
1:45-4:00: Explore the new footpath and other Scrag trails on your own or with Conservation Commission members

Conservation Commission members will be present to answer questions about the new trail and plans for future trail improvements at higher elevations. Please come out to experience the forest on May 19th and learn about volunteer stewardship opportunities. Weather for Sunday looks good!
