In partnership with the Vermont Italian Cultural Association (VICA), Bridgeside Books in Waterbury is hosting a Gelato Social on Italy's Repubblica Day holiday, the anniversary of the day in 1946 when Italians voted for Italy to become a republic and abolish the monarchy.
Enjoy an afternoon treat from Shy Guy Gelato, meet other Italophiles, learn about VICA, and get a book!
TICKETS ARE REQUIRED and include gelato and the upcoming memoir "You Deserve Good Gelato" by Kacie Rose, an American who moved to Italy in 2021. She reflects on the terror of driving on Italian roads, the trials of speaking a new language (and getting it horribly wrong), and the genuine beauty of a slower pace of life, all with humor and heart.
