Do you own an antique sampler made before 1900? If so, please share your piece of history with us. The Old Stone House Museum and Historic Village and the Vermont Sampler Initiative will host Sampler and Embroidery ID Days at the Grammar School/Grange Hall at 1350 Hinman Settler Road in Brownington. Bring your samplers and embroideries to be photographed and documented on Friday June 7, 10:00 to 4:00PM by appointment only or Saturday June 8 from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM by appointment or walk in. Embroidered samplers, maps, and pictures were an essential component of a 19 th century girl's education. Your heirloom will add to our understanding of the history of women and girls in Vermont and become part of an online database (http://samplerarchive.org). Supported in part by the Vermont Council on the Humanities. To make an appointment and to learn more contact: sampersvt@gmail.com.
