Are you concerned about the mental health of an aging parent, relative, or neighbor? Mental Health First Aid for Older Adults is a training program that can help you understand and respond to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in older adults.
United Way of Northwest Vermont is offering a series of free Mental Health First Aid for Older Adults Certification trainings in June. Older adults have high rates of late-onset mental health challenges, like anxiety and depression, and low rates of identification and treatment. This certification will give you the confidence you need to help an older adult in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge.
United Way is offering these trainings free of charge thanks to generous sponsorship from UVM Health Network and MVP Health Care. Space is limited and registration is required. Learn more & register at https://www.classy.org/event/mental-health-first-aid-for-older-adults-trainings-2024/e583400
