Northeast Kingdom Waste Management (NEKWMD) is having the first Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event for the season at the Ryegate transfer station this coming Saturday May 11th from 8a-12p. This event is open to all residents of the district, no appointment needed.
There is a limit of 25 gallons of material per person. NEKWMD reserves the right to close the event early if we reach capacity. Please no after-hours dumping! Please do not bring HHW to Ryegate anytime other than the event on May 11th from 8a-12p.
Have more than 25 gallons? Please make an appointment for a Tuesday or Thursday at NEKWMD in Lyndonville at 224 Church St. We will be offering scheduled time slots all summer from 8:30a-3p.

Wondering what HHW is? Paint, cleaners, stains, nail polish,... anything marked toxic, corrosive, flammable, or reactive. Household Hazardous Waste should never, ever be dumped down the drain or anywhere on your property. We take fluorescent lightbulbs, used oil, E-waste, and batteries of all types in our recycling station, no appointment needed for these materials. If you a resident of the district and wondering if you have HHW, give us a call, we are happy to assist you.
