Community Planting Day at Bluffside Community Gardens

Past event
Jun 9, 2024, 10 AM to 12 PM

Are you interested in gardening, but lack resources and/or not sure where to start? Do you already love gardening and want to meet like-minded people? Do you want to help promote food sovereignty in the Newport area? Then please join us for a Community Gardening Event at Bluffside Community Gardens on Sunday, June 9th!

This event will feature a Master Gardener presentation, FREE seeds and gardening supplies, and a garden craft for the kiddos. Participants will learn about companion planting, local food resources, and more! All are welcome.

Join Green Mountain Farm to School, the VT Dept. of Health, WIC and Newport Head Start for a morning of planting, learning, and fun. Help us plant our gardens- all food grown in our plots will be used to feed community members through our various programs throughout the summer.

Parking is available at the Sugarhouse Parking Area along Scott Farm Road, near the intersection with Bluff Road in Newport. Please dress appropriately for the weather, bring sunscreen and water, and plan to get a little dirty! We hope to see you there.
