As Joya Lawyer has been posting, the Huntington Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its annual Harvest Supper -- and only fundraiser -- this Saturday at Brewster-Pierce.
It is a great opportunity to reconnect with neighbors and friends over a delicious meal, while supporting our all-volunteer Fire Department. As you may know, besides protecting lives and property, the Fire Department also has EMTs that provide first aid until the ambulance arrives. We also teach fire safety to the school children at Brewster-Pierce every year. And we have been installing AEDs at Beaudry's and at Brewster-Pierce.
Because it is a town-wide potluck, it means that the dishes vary greatly, in addition to the tried and true, and that there is always something to please the pickiest of eaters, or the most adventurous.
So, please join us on Saturday and bring a dish if you can. If you can't bring a dish, at least bring your appetite, and maybe a neighbor. Hoping to see you there.
