On Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 6:00 p.m., come to the Peace and Justice Center on Lake St. to learn about Equal Exchange's work with small-scale banana producers in Peru and Ecuador. Members of the Equal Exchange banana team will talk about the environmental and political issues facing banana farmers in Latin America and the role fair trade can play in sustainable economic development. Find out about work done in Burlington to raise awareness about the banana industry, and discuss plans to work with Burlington consumers to demonstrate demand for more ethical bananas at area supermarkets.
