Jane Masenas will be giving a talk about crazy quilts and will also be bringing a lot of her quilts along to show. They are amazing to see - she uses a lot of different vintage materials and each one has a theme. Her trio of Climate quilts and her Inspiration quilt is currently on display in the gallery plus she will have quite a few more to show and talk about during her visit on Sunday, May 12, from 1-2. Jane's bio:
"I have been quilting since I moved to Vermont in 1975. I started with traditional quilts but my love of all types of embroidery and handwork encouraged me to move to crazy quilts in the late 90s. I have designed over 40 crazy quilts of different sizes from small wall hangings to larger ones. I usually choose a theme for a quilt I am designing which adds to the fun of searching for different embroidered vintage pieces to combine with my own embroidery. I really enjoyed beading so many of my quilts have a lot of beading. I will be bringing a variety of different themed cray quilts for my trunk show and also some earlier pieces I have picked up from different sales."
