If you missed Wednesday's performance by the Champlain Trio, don't despair. Noon Music in May continues with four more concerts in May. You will not be disappointed with any of our visiting artists.
Join us on May 8 for a performance by a classical guitar and violin duo (a first for Stowe Performing Arts.)
DUO SONIDOS, featuring guitarist Adam Levin and violinist William Knuth, will present music of George Frideric Handel, Eduardo Morales-Caso, João Luiz, Clarice Assad, and Lukas Foss. Some of these pieces were either commissioned by or dedicated to Duo Sonidos.
The duo is a refreshing addition to the chamber music world, offering an approachable yet
sophisticated combination for all chamber music audiences. By forging relationships with
contemporary composers, Duo Sonidos has forwarded the mission of expanding the duo
repertoire. As international prize winners, Levin and Knuth have performed worldwide, been
honored as US Fulbright Scholars in music performance in Madrid, Spain, and Vienna, Austria
respectively, and have released recordings to international critical acclaim. Their program will feature music of George Frideric Handel, João Luiz, Lukas Foss and more.
Adam Levin, praised for his "visceral and imaginative performances" by the Washington Post, is
a prize-winning and Billboard top-charting classical guitarist and recording artist and has
performed on four continents across the globe.
Violinist William Knuth has earned recognition for his artistry as a solo and chamber musician
and has been praised by American Record Guide for his "perfect intonation, wide range of
timbre…expressive phrasing, and great sensitivity."
All Noon Music in May concerts are presented free of charge in Stowe Community Church at noon, each Wednesday during the month of ....MAY! Donations are accepted. Doors open at 11:20; the concerts begin at noon.
