Hello Richmond,
Green Up Day is upon us! We're lucky. It will be warm and with no rain in the forecast through Saturday. Thank you for getting out there! I checked the Town Office entryway this afternoon and saw the map is really getting filled in, and sign-ups on the clipboard indicate that about 149 people will have contributed to picking up trash in Richmond. Fantastic!!
THESE SIGNIFICANT ROADS STILL NEED HELP:
- River Road and all the roads in the community of homes near the junction of River Rd. and Governor Peck Hwy.
- Southview Drive and side roads.
- Hidden Pines and other roads near there.
- Lower Stage Rd.
- Stonefence and Robbins Mtn. Rds.
- Greystone Dr. and side roads.
- Huntington Rd. from Milkweed Rd. to the south end of Hillview.
- Old Farm Rd. and Beaver Pond Hill.
- Jericho Rd. from Valley View up to where Old Jericho Rd./Trail pops out.
- West Main from east of the Old Mobil station all the way to the Williston town line.
- East Main from the 89 underpass to the Monitor Barn.
- Valley View Rd. and Ext.
- Christmas Hill Rd.
- Grandview Drive
If you haven't already, PLEASE let us know where you Green Up, and how many people join you. Go to the map and clipboard. Or feel free to contact me directly to inform me about where you will be working, by email, preferably, ecwright1414@gmail.com. Or call 802-734-7034.
There are still lots of green Green Up trash bags there for you in the Town Office entryway.
LAST REMINDERS:
- If you can, take the trash you find to the Town Garage at the top of Thompson Rd. near the Round Church. Otherwise leave it on a roadside to be picked up by the road crew volunteering their time.
- If you find hazardous waste as you clean up the roadsides, please leave it visible, outside any bag, and next to trash bags.
MANY THANKS!
Thank you so much for working to clean Richmond's trash. Even a small effort, by each Richmond resident who is able, for a short stretch of time, adds up with many hands helping in our town! If you can, please encourage others to get out there too. And it does not have to be right on Saturday, May 4th!
Let's make this Green Up successful, fun and safe. Extra safe! Remember your gloves, long pants, boots and bright clothing. And carefully watch for oncoming traffic, ticks, and sharp and hazardous trash.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
