The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) invites you to attend the Winooski City Council Meeting on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. to hear an informational presentation on the Lafountain Street and Dion Street Scoping Study (Study). The purpose of the Study is to investigate potential street reconfigurations along Lafountain Street and Dion Street, spanning from Main Street to East Allen Street, based on public feedback.
The first public meeting was held in May 2023 and aided the Study Team in gathering public input on local concerns, transportation needs, and ideas to develop alternative solutions to enhance the corridor. Based on input from the public and the Advisory Committee, the Study Team revised and finalized the Purpose and Need of the study and developed several alternatives that meet the Purpose and Need. In November 2023, the Study Team presented the draft alternatives at a second public meeting and solicited public feedback on each. The draft alternatives were refined based on the input received and presented to the Municipal Infrastructure Committee (Advisory Committee). Based on public feedback and the direction of the Advisory Committee, the Study Team will be presenting the final alternatives and recommending a preferred alternative for future design and implementation to the City Council. This meeting will be informational only. A City Council decision on the recommended preferred alternative will be made at a subsequent City Council meeting.
The presentation and recommendation will take place at the City Council Meeting on Monday, May 6, at 6:00 p.m. at the Winooski City Council Chambers and virtually via Zoom. Please join us in-person at the Winooski City Council Chambers at Winooski City Hall (27 West Allen Street) or virtually at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/84364849328 or by phone at 646-558-8656.
