Dear neighbors,
The Friends of the Barge Canal invites you to Green Up Day event on Saturday, May 4 from 9 AM to 1 PM at your favorite Superfund site, the Pine Street Barge Canal in Burlington's South End.
If you have not yet walked this land, it is a beautiful, wild and challenging site, so dress appropriately. Bring work gloves if you have them (we have plenty to borrow). Bring water to drink. Even if it's a gorgeous spring day, wear sturdy shoes or boots, long pants and a hat! Come for an hour or as long as you want. We will be working rain or shine.

This is our third year of cleaning up the Barge Canal and our community is growing along with the trees, shrubs and, yes, poison ivy in this lovely, vulnerable area.
