The Capital City Grange is holding its annual cooking contest on Saturday, starting at 4:30, and this year the contest is extra cheesy. To enter, just make a dish that contains 1-2 cups of (grated) cheese! It can be a main dish, an appetizer, even a dessert. We'll have a pair of local celebrity judges, State Rep. Anne Donahue, and retired English teacher, principal and Kellogg-Hubbard Library executive director Tom McKone, who will do their best to award prizes and certificates to First, Second and Third place winners.
We welcome dishes made with cow, sheep, goat or plant-based cheese--we want to include everyone in our contests.
Please bring at least enough of your dish for 2 servings--but ideally, bring enough to share at the Grange Community Potluck, which will start at 6:00 PM. Everyone will want to taste the choices--it's always fun to second-guess the judges, isn't it? And everyone is welcome at our potluck dinners--bring whatever you want, and enjoy a great variety of tasty dishes--including some cheesy ones!
If you plan to come, please send an email to Liz Benjamin: lizbenjamin64@gmail.com so we have some idea how many entries to expect.
