The Halifax Community Club hosts an annual community plant swap at the Halifax Community Hall (20 Brook Road, West Halifax) on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. This year the plant swap is Saturday, May 25, 2024. The Plant Swap honors the memory of our friend, neighbor, gardener, and Community Club member Edie Fenton, who died in early 2020 just before the first spring bulbs emerged from her well-tended plant beds. Edie was generous in sharing her plants. Let's do the same! Bring plants to share! Or take some annuals, perennials, and seedlings for your garden. Or do both: take some, leave some!
This year the Plant Swap coincides with **Sandwich Saturday at the Halifax Café**, celebrating the Café's first year in operation. The Café is in the Halifax Community Hall (20 Brook Road, West Halifax). On May 25th, we will offer our usual baked goods and coffee/tea plus a variety of sandwiches. Swap a plant, stay for lunch!
When: Saturday, May 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. rain or shine
Where: Halifax Community Hall, 20 Brook Road, West Halifax.
The Hall is wheelchair-accessible including accessible bathroom.
Cost: Free.
