SAVE THE DATES: Phyllis Rachel Larrabee Memorial Weekend – June 21, 22, 23, 2024

Dear Family and Friends of Phyllis, It's been nearly two years since my last update and many things have transpired regarding our efforts to locate, catalogue, preserve and publish Phyllis' works.

First, I want to let everyone know that we have made an event plan for solstice weekend 2024, June 21, 22st at the Unitarian Church and June 23rd at Green Mount Cemetery in Montpelier, Vermont.

Friday the 21st, we would like to do a community reading of one or two of Phyllis' plays. We had thought about maybe having a performance, yet with March around the corner it seems as though we've run out of time. However, if someone knows anyone interested in leading such an effort, there are some funds available for a stipend to help compensate someone if they're excited about the idea

Saturday, June 22nd, we would like to have a day long community round robin poetry reading. We hope to have a few dozen copies of as many of Phyllis' poems as we've been able to assemble for publication by the beginning of June. We will pass them around for folks to read any poem of there choice.

Sunday, June 23rd, we will meet at Green Mount Cemetery for a Headstone Revealing Ceremony.

We could use some on the ground assistance with setting up venues in Montpelier, if anyone has time please contact us at: PhyllisRLF@use.startmail.com.

The Phyllis Rachel Larrabee Foundation has been formed as a formal vehicle to be responsible for this effort. If you have any loose Phyllis poems that you'd like to share with us please contact us via email at PhyllisRLF@use.startmail.com so that we can arrange the best way for you to get them to us.

We have documented 39 collections of poetry and a 40th to be published posthumously. So, far we have accounted for more than 600 pages of poetry, over 350 unique poems and we still haven't catalogued it all. The number is likely to be closer to 1000 pages, as we have already located more than 100 hand written poems and have an additional 16 collections to review. I'm currently in the process of laying out 24 collections for the publication of a future poetry anthology. I am semi-retired now, so I'm able to increase the effort toward project completion, hopefully in 2025.

You can find the most updated list of her collections and writings on her revised weblog at:

Warm regards to all!
