If you are interested in identifying and controlling the spread of invasive plant species, the Calais Conservation Commission will host a series of walks through 2024 to introduce residents to a variety of the species prevalent throughout town. CCC members will lead the walks and help ID these plants at various stages in the growing season. The first walk will be the "Loop" beginning at the Maple Corner Community Store on Saturday, May 11th from 9 to 11 a.m. (rain date May 18th). Additional walks will be scheduled in July and October in other areas of town.
