Green Up Day is nearly upon us!!! Please join in the festivities with us on Saturday, May 4 at East Montpelier Elementary School from 9am-1pm. You don't need to volunteer the whole time, even an hour or two spent picking up a few pieces of trash on our roadsides makes a difference for our community!
WHEN: Saturday, May 4th from 9am until 1pm
WHERE: East Montpelier Elementary School (for bag disposal)
WE'RE STILL LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP PICK UP TRASH ALONG THE ROADSIDES. I'm also still looking for a crew to help clean up East Hill Rd, preferable a few young, strong backs to roll some tires back up the embankment. An extra special thanks to everyone who has let me know so far what areas they'll be covering!
We have enough volunteers now to help at the school, thanks to everyone who let me know they'll be there.
The iconic Green Up bags are NOW available at the following locations. Each roll has 10 bags, so please only take a couple off the roll so we have plenty to go around.
- Bragg Farm Sugar House, 1005 VT-14
- Dudley Store, 2915 US-2
- East Montpelier Elementary School, 665 Vincent Flats Rd
- Fox Market, 3070 Route 2
- Morse Farm, 1168 County Road
- Town Office, 40 Kelton Road
- Plainfield Hardware, US Route 2
And YES, we will take green up bags from previous years! Bring those vintage bags out and show them off!
Should you start greening up prior to Green Up Day, let us know the areas you clear or plan to clear as well as any roads or neighborhoods that require extra attention. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE BAGS ALONG THE ROADSIDE. Hold on to those bags and deliver them on May 4th to the drop-off site at the elementary school parking lot. The East Montpelier road crew does not offer roadside pickup of bags.
We'll see you soon for Green Up Day!
