From 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 11 the Town will accept bulk trash items from residents. The service is provided at the public works yard with the entrance to the location at 79 Pitman Road. The service is for Barre Town residents' home use to clean up their basements, garages and sheds. The service is not for business waste or to clean up rental properties. Residents must bring a tax or utility bill with mailing label plus a driver's license to verify residency.

There are specific preparation, handling, disposal and cost instructions for some materials. For more details on materials accepted and a price list, see the Barre Town web site home page under News and Announcements or the recently mailed April Newsletter.

The Fire Department Auxiliary will be providing volunteer help so please consider bringing a donation for them along with money for the bulk trash.

We would also encourage new volunteers to help out with this important service. Our current volunteers are getting along in years and in order to continue this service to town residents, it is crucial that we recruit younger volunteers. Please consider doing your part for your community and help us by donating a few hours of your time on May 11th.
