Volunteers are needed for Invasive Honeysuckle Management at Mills Riverside Park.
Mills Riverside Park has a honeysuckle plant species that is invasive, spreading, and that competes aggressively with native plants, can destroy biodiversity, and permanently alter habitats through both direct and indirect effects.
Bring loppers, hand saws, gloves, safety glasses (chainsaw is helpful for big stuff), and water to drink. Dress as appropriate for tick protection. The plan is to cut the invasive plants down to the ground to prevent seed spread and diminish the strength of the plants.
RSVP to Bernie Paquette.
