Join us for the next Bikeable Burlington Bike Train! We’ll be riding into Burlington from the Winooski Circle, highlighting the opportunities for increased visibility and street improvements on the Winooski Circle, the bridge to Burlington, Colchester Ave/Pearl Street, and Battery Street.
The ride will start at the Misery Loves Company Bakeshop at 25 Winooski Falls Way. Come at 7:45am to decorate your bike with signage. We’ll roll at 8am. Optional ending place (if you don’t need to rush of to work) is Maglianero Café at 47 Maple Street.
This is the third ride organized by the new group Bikeable Burlington Now. The group’s goal is to bring attention and visibility to the need for a complete network of streets that support biking into, out of, and across the city of Burlington.
What’s a Bike Train, you ask? Bike Trains in LA and other cities are simply groups of people commuting to work together. Think of our rides as a solidarity bike commute – bringing riders from other parts of the city to join commuters from that area to highlight a route that’s particularly unsafe to bike. We space people on bikes every 30-60 seconds so we can be visible during rush hour and ride safely with traffic, but convey strength in numbers with a positive message that reaches a large number of people.
If you're unable to make this ride, stay tuned for more rides in Burlington and beyond. Thanks!! We roll rain or shine :)
