Want to know what it takes to finance and carry out home weatherization improvements?
Craftsbury Energy Committee and $ave Energy NEK will be hosting a three house weatherization tour on Saturday May 4th.
1PM - Craftsbury Town Hall, 85 S. Craftsbury Road, Craftsbury
The tour will begin with a short presentation from NETO on how their organization helps families improve the comfort of their homes while saving money on fuel bills. NETO offers income-qualifying FREE weatherization services and appliances as well as other financing support. Following the presentation you will get to tour three local homes to see the improvements first hand:
1:30PM - Silva home, 67 S. Craftsbury Road, Craftsbury
NETO will lead a basement tour of their weatherization work on a 150 year old home where they will talk about the work they did, as well as their free weatherization approach and applications they use in old houses.

2:15PM - 95 S. Craftsbury Road, Craftsbury
Mark Snyder, Vermont Energy Audits, an Efficiency Vermont Certified Energy Auditor, will demonstrate the use of a blower door test and speak about the benefits of insulation, air sealing, ventilation and moisture concerns.

3:30PM - 25 Mountain Hill Road, Craftsbury Common
Tour of Matt Moody and Paula Davidson's new energy efficient 1200 sq.ft Timber Frame home and accompanying tiny house. Get tips on effective insulation, heat recovery ventilation and off-grid heating options.

This event is free and open to all. NETO weatherization services apply to homes with foundations, trailer homes and rental homes. You are welcome to participate in all or part of the program. This is a great opportunity to see what type of weatherization work can be done to make your own home more energy efficient and understand more about financing options.
