April is National Poetry Month – and Taylor Swift just dropped an album ("The Tortured Poets Department") with a song which poses the following question :
"Like, who uses typewriters anyway?"
Answer: you can! Come use our "vintage" typewriter & write a poem or love letter to a friend, partner, or favorite bookseller! 📚💌
- FOLD SOMETHING
Tuttle Publishing (located in North Clarendon, Vermont!) is sponsoring an Origami Folding Contest, open to all origami enthusiasts from beginners to experts who are interested in showcasing their creativity & skills (or just want to have a little fun). Pick up paper & patterns, fold, and post photos of your projects tagging @thebookstorevt and @TuttlePublishing on social media so we can share with all our followers too! Winners will be chosen in May (date TBD).
- BOOKMARK SOMETHING
Make a fancy bookmark with markers, stickers, glue and glitter so you can bedazzle the heck out of your own personalized page-marker.
- EAT SOMETHING
Tasty baked goods from Friday Harvest Bakery, while they last!
- BINGO SOMETHING
To celebrate IBD, and to encourage people to shop, dine, and spend locally, The Bookstore came up with Brandon Business Crawl Bingo! There will be Bingo cards this week at participating businesses; when you make a purchase, get your card marked. Take the card around to other participating businesses and when you get a BINGO, head to The Bookstore on Saturday 4/27/24, and spin the prize wheel. Win fabulous Bookstore swag!
