Vermont historian Howard Coffin will be in the Twinfield Union School library on Friday, May 10 at 5:30 PM for a special presentation: "Vermont Women and the Civil War".
With nearly 35,000 of Vermont's able-bodied men actively engaged in the Civil War, the monumental task of keeping more than 30,000 farms in operation became a women's enterprise in the state. What was the impact of such a change? Have there been long-lasting effects? You are warmly welcome to listen, learn and join in the discussion!
This popularly-acclaimed program will be held in Twinfield's school library and is co-sponsored by Vermont Humanities Speakers Bureau, the Marshfield Historical Society and the Jaquith Public library.
Free and open to the public. For more information call 802 - 454 - 1680.
