The Albert S. Nadeau Aggregate Business was established in Johnson in 1945 along VT route 15. In 1958 a complete plant replacement was completed. Known as Nadeau Sand and Gravel Company, the plant provided sand and gravel throughout Lamoille County and beyond until its recent sale. During those many years, the family took and saved many pictures of their operation, creating a pictorial history of the evolution of a business enterprise in Johnson.
On Sunday, April 28, 2024, members of the present generation of Nadeaus will talk about their experiences at the family-owned business and share information about the photographs. Starting at 2 pm at the Holcomb House, there will be a lot of Johnson history to view.
Sponsored by the Johnson Historical Society, the Holcomb House will be opened at 1 pm. All are welcome to this free event. Homemade cookies will be served. Information at 802 635 7401.
