Green Up Day is May 4th!

What is Green Up Day?
A statewide day for communities to come together to pick up litter after the snow has receded. Green Up Vermont provides resources to volunteers like the Plainfield Conservation Commission, who organize local cleanups in their town.

How Can I Get Involved?
In Plainfield, stop by the Rec Field on May 4th from 10am-12pm to pick up bags and sign up for a stretch of road to clean. Fill your Green Up bags with trash and take them to the trailer at the Town Garage before 4pm. Remember to bring gloves, good footwear, water and sunscreen, and check for ticks!

Can I Green Up on an Earlier Day?
Yes! Green Up bags are available now on the porch of the Plainfield Municipal Building and inside Cutler Memorial Library. Please take only as many as you need, and hang on to your full bags to bring to the Town Garage on May 4th between 10am-4pm. That way we can get an accurate count of how much we collected!

How Can I Help?
Plainfield Conservation Commission is still looking for volunteers to help at the Town Garage as well as sweeping the roads for any forgotten bags later in the afternoon. Please contact us below if you can help with either one of these tasks!
