How often do you get to hear a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient speak in Randolph?

Sister Simone Campbell was so honored by President Biden in 2022 for her 30 years of work and advocacy for advancing social justice in this country.

In 2010 she wrote the famous "Nun's Letter" in support of the Affordable Care Act despite the opposition of the U.S. Council of Bishops. In 2012, Campbell launched the annual "Nuns on the Bus" tour (#NunTrouble), in which sisters went on nationwide tours to promote various initiatives, such as the call to vote, tax policies, immigration reform, Medicaid expansion and economic justice.

She has continued this work with such organizations as NETWORK and Understanding US which promote social and economic justice and the reduction of polarization among people with differing viewpoints.

Come and hear Sister Simone and other Vermont advocates for social justice at Chandler on April 21 at 1 pm.

The event is sponsored by Bethany Church in honor of Betty Edson who was a tireless advocate for peace and justice. Admission is free; donations are welcome.
