Do you love animals and want to make a lasting impact on their lives? Now is your chance! Central Vermont Humane Society (CVHS) has kicked off the start of fundraising for their annual event, Walk for Animals on June 8th, and invites you to join in making a difference!

How can a Walk help hundreds of animals at CVHS you may ask? By signing up for this important fundraiser and raising funds for shelter pets, you are helping to provide food, shelter, exceptional care, and most importantly, you are giving animals a second chance.

Starting now until the event, CVHS is asking the community to rally together and help achieve their much needed goal of $80,000. "After one of our busiest years, making this year's goal is key to ensuring CVHS can continue to be there for the animals who need us." says CVHS's Co-Executive Director, Laurie Garrison.

Walk for Animals sponsors, all local Vermont businesses, including returning Leader of the Pack sponsor 802 Cars and Top Dog Sponsor One Stop Country Pet Supply have already raised over $32,000. Now Central Vermont Humane Society needs the involvement of individuals and teams to help reach the $80,000 goal.

"It's really easy to sign-up," adds Garrison. "People can choose to fundraise individually or get a team together and make it a collective effort. No matter how you get involved, your support will directly benefit vulnerable pets.

All participants and community members are invited to join us for the celebratory event held Saturday, June 8, 2024 on the State House lawn, from 9:30 am – 12 pm. This family-friendly and pet-friendly event will include vendors, dog contests, Story Time with the Kellogg Hubbard Library, professional pet portraits with local photographer Paul Richardson, a gentle 1.5 mile walk through downtown Montpelier, and so much more!

An award ceremony will conclude the event where top fundraisers will be announced and awarded prizes.
