Dr. Julie Bier of Better Living Audiology in South Burlington will present on a broad range of diagnostic and rehabilitative audiologic services, including tinnitus and hyperacusis management, and hearing aid technology. She will also discuss a recent Johns Hopkins study revealing that hearing loss could be linked to dementia by making individuals more socially isolated and the effort of constantly straining to hear can stress the brain and cause cognitive overload.
