Jumping worms are an invasive species that consume and degrade the soil in gardens, lawns and forests. Humans spread these worms without realizing it. This talk will provide essential information on the identification and biology of jumping worms, as well as actions to control their spread and negative impact on our ecology and economy.
Featured speakers are Dr. Josef Görres, Professor of Ecological Soil Management, and Maryam Nouri-Aiin, Postdoctoral Researcher, both from the University of Vermont's Department of Agriculture, Landscapes and Environment (formerly Plant and Soil Science), and Emily Johnston, Public Outreach Coordinator, Addison County Solid Waste Management District. Q&A to follow.
Event is free, all are welcome. Tuesday April 23, 7:00-8:30 pm. Location-
