The Veterans' Place "Sleep-Out for Homeless Veterans" encampment and fundraiser is this Friday, April 19. About 16 people have volunteered to spend the night outdoors to raise awareness of Veteran homelessness in this country. We are seeking donations of extra large cardboard boxes (the kind appliances are delivered in), waterproof tarps, and wooden pallets, as well as scrap wood for a barrel fire, and blankets or comforters you are willing to part with. You can drop them off between noon and 4pm on Friday, near the monument on The Common in Depot Square, where the volunteers will be setting up their encampment, . And please join us from 5-6 pm for opening ceremonies and talks by our guest speakers—veterans with lived experience of homelessness. Our veterans thank you.
