Community Soup This Sunday 4pm Focusing on the Good in Our Community
Community Soup is based on the age old values of neighbor helping neighbor, fellowship and friendship. Each gathering provides an opportunity for all people to come together and share a simple meal of homemade soup as we nourish each other with great conversation and sharing!
Together, with the intent to focus on the good, we listen to each other's stories which assist us in acknowledging the good in a time that is too often clouded with the negative. Through this experience, our hope is to nurture relationships as we strengthen community. There is so much good in our community of St Albans! Come join us!
On the second Sunday of each month since last November, a group of about 25 -35 people of all ages with different life experiences come together. There is a mix of familiar faces and new faces as well. We have our Gratitude Board displayed at each gathering and everyone is encouraged to write out one or two things they are grateful for. Then everyone is given an opportunity to introduce themselves and share "something good" either about themselves or about the community. The sharing is amazing! Some beautiful things are shared during this time and people truly LISTEN to each other speak.
After this time of sharing, we have bread and homemade soup! Plenty of soup!!! The sharing of stories continue on whether one on one or within small groups. Such a simple concept with a powerful message; Focus on the Good !
We look forward to you joining us as we continue to meet on the second Sunday of each month at 4pm. All are welcome! We are always looking for volunteers to assist with set up, serving and cleaning.
