On the ArtsRiot Stage: The talented teen singers from the Opera Company of Middlebury's Youth Opera Company will delight audiences with songs and opera scenes in Italian from their fabulous recent production of A Country Store Opera. Music by composers such as Donizetti, Rossini, Cimarosa, Wolf-Ferrari and even Gilbert & Sullivan will be accompanied by renowned pianist Mary Jane Austin. YOC founder Sarah Cullins will guide audiences on this musical trip through Italy!
By the AO Glass furnace: Glass blowing demonstration by Maestro Rich Arentzen and the AO Team making Italian wine glasses - a celebration of what fire and sand can be transformed to by skill, drive, and imagination! You will learn the origin of the Venetian style wine glasses and watch how these thin-walled and blown-stemmed fragile pieces of beauty are created from 2,1000ºF molten glass.
