Free Climbing & Learning Opportunity

May 19, 2024, 9 AM to 3 PM

On Sunday, May 19th Adventure Spirit Rock+Ice+Alpine Experiences will be running an American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) Assessment and we'll be looking for people to join us as participants. The SPI Assessment is the basic level of certification for rock climbing instructors and this will be a chance for the Assessment candidate team to provide you with a quality climbing day in the Bolton VT area. This will be an excellent learning opportunity for:

--Anyone looking to explore rock climbing.
--Anyone looking to advance their existing climbing skills and to learn more about effective single-pitch climbing management.
--Rock climbing students interested in learning more about the leadership progression in climbing and--more specifically--about the SPI Exam process.

For those new to climbing, it will be a fun and well-structured introduction. For those who climb recreationally, it'll be a useful way to expand your climbing skills horizon. And, if you're aspiring to become a leader in the rock world, you should definitely plan to take advantage of this opportunity—passing the SPI Assessment is a baseline level of certification for leading groups in the rock context.

If you'd like to take advantage of this opportunity, here are the parameters:

--You will need to provide your own transportation and meet us at the climbing site (Bolton VT), likely at 9am. Your climbing day will wrap-up around 3pm. Once you contact us, we'll provide specific info.
--If you commit to going, we are relying on your firm word that you are indeed definitely going to attend. We need you there for our candidates to have a quality Assessment experience. And if you commit and don't go, you are taking up another person's opportunity, as space is limited.
--The event will occur regardless of weather conditions. Even if it is cold or wet, the examinees will work to make climbing and/or rappelling possible.
--Please only sign-up if you can absolutely confirm your attendance, regardless of weather, etc.
--We will provide helmets, harnesses, and climbing shoes.
--You must show up with food and water for the day and adequate clothing layers to be comfortable, plus a rain shell.
--You will need to sign a health/release of liability form prior to participating.

We hope you'll join us for this fun chance to climb and great learning opportunity!
