This week's PoemTown Randolph live event features music and poetry on Thursday, April 11 at 7 PM with Aaron Marcus, Sam Sanders and Ama Peyman at Chandler's Esther Mesh Room. Enjoy a night of original musical compositions set to spoken word poetry. Sam and Aaron have been setting the words of many of our local poets to music since Aaron's award-winning release of Men Don't Cry in 2018. Aaron studied various styles of piano and has toured nationally as a multi-instrumentalist with several groups. Sam has worked a combined 5 decades at The New York Public Library record archives at Lincoln Center, and later for Vermont Public Radio, archiving, recording, and reading the poetry and music of others. He came to writing his own poetry later in life. Aaron will also be joined for part of the program by special poetic guest Ama Peyman. Ama is a Black woman farmer and founder and host of Salon Black Walnut. This event includes an offering of special desserts during intermission. All PoemTown events are free and open to the public.
