Corinth Residents!
GREEN UP DAY on SATURDAY, MAY 4 is some weeks away, but if you want a head start in collecting roadside trash, visit the transfer station this Saturday to get green bags and sign up for the sections of road you'd like to green up. The BIG MAP WILL BE THERE. Signing up is not mandatory, but it's a good way to avoid people duplicating efforts of others and ensuring that all roads get cleaned.
The more bags of trash you collect, the better your chances are of winning:
1. RAFFLE PRIZES. On Green Up Day, you'll get a raffle ticket for every green bag of trash you bring to the transfer station for a chance to win these Corinth-produced products: maple syrup, herbal items, dozen eggs, baked goods, lovely pottery, Crossmolina pizza night gift certificates, notecards.
2. 'Taste of Corinth' GIFT BASKET (same items as above) for the person who brings in the most bags!
3. COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE AWARD for the team who brings in the most bags!
BIG MAP and SIGN-UP SHEET will be at these locations throughout April:
— Transfer Station: every Saturday 8-1pm
— Crossmolina shop / Cookeville Post Office: one day a week
GREEN BAGS: A constant supply will be at the Corinth Town Hall (front porch), Crossmolina shop, Cookeville post office, East Corinth post office, Blake Memorial Library, East Corinth General Store.
IMPORTANT:
— Please do bring in large roadside rubbish that is too large for bags
— Tires: 4 tires maximum you can bring in for free
— Do not leave filled green bags on roadsides! You must bring them to the transfer station
— Consider greening up Chelsea and Brook Roads — they need special attention!
