Calling All Green Up Day Participants,
In partnership with Green Up Vermont, the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, Lamoille River Paddlers Trail, and Lamoille Valley Rail Trail Committee organizations are organizing an effort to clean up sections of the LVRT, including Wolcott.
The effort will take place on Green Up Day, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering to "green up" the Town of Wolcott section of the LVRT (on foot or by bike), please contact Jim Ryan at wchollow@hotmail.com. Please note that the Rail Trail Green Up is in addition to Green Up efforts on Wolcott's roads. Please contact the Town for more information regarding the latter.
● Come out on May 4! Contact Jim Ryan at the above email address to sign up. Meet up at the Wolcott library parking lot at 9:00AM. There will be two Green Up Teams, one heading upstream to the Potterville Dam and one heading downstream to Corley Road, about 2 miles each way.
Please note: there will be centralized locations to bring bags of trash collected along the LVRT. If you notice larger objects such as tires, barrels, etc. – please do not haul them to the trail! You can document the location and notify Jackie Cassino, Rail Trails Program Manager for the VT Agency of Transportation (jackie.cassino@vermont.gov or 802-505-8193) and/or report it through the LVRT Website's Report A Trail Hazard webpage.
