Now that Spring is here, the Johnson Conservation Commission plans to do some field work at the Gomo Town Forest and volunteers are welcomed. Apple tree release is an on-going event to support wildlife and to help produce tasty apples. Noel Dodge will lead an apple tree release session on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Noel will give a pruning lesson before sending folks off to selected sites. Be sure to wear boots, tick-proof attire, and gloves as we anticipate wet conditions. Tools will be available but bring a pruner and/or a saw if you can. Also bring water and a lunch. Volunteers may go directly to the Gomo property on Codding Hollow Road on the Johnson side. If you have questions or to confirm your participation, contact Lois or Noel.
