Welcome the coming of spring. Rev. Arnold Isidor Thomas, our regional bard of song, will lead us on another great Musical Adventure. Green Mountain Celts (Joanne & Terry Ranney, Mike Reynolds, Rev. Arnold Isidore Thomas) will also be joined by Vonnie Estes & Nancy Bakemeier (Tenpenny Bit) and Iain MacHarg (Piper). Come, enjoy, the skirl of the bagpipes, Celtic whistles, heartbeat of the drum, rich vocals, magic of the fiddle and a lively keyboard for another entertaining evening for all ages.

The Musicians

Terry Ranney performs on the Great Highland Pipes and Scottish Small Pipes. He participants in Highland pipe EUSPBA Grade 3 solo competitions and active as a solo piper for weddings, funerals and other events. Terry is a member of the Catamount Pipe Band and with the Band, participated in the World Pipe Band Competitions in Glasgow Scotland in 2013, 2015 & 2019. http://www.greenmountaincelts.net/

Joanne Ranney plays Celtic frame drums, Bodhran and Irish Whistles. Her drumming becomes a portal into that mystical energy that speaks to the Celtic spirit. She is active with Green Mountain Celts and the fusion band "Out O' The Blue". She teaches Bodhran through Vermont Institute of Celtic Arts. Mike Reynolds plays guitar with Green Mountain Celts. Mike is active as a guitarist in folk and contemporary music venues.

Rev. Arnold Isidore Thomas, legendary vocalist from Underhill, Vermont who enjoys singing in a variety of settings.

Vonnie Estes (piano/pump organ) has been involved in contras/Québécois social dance since the late 1970's. She has been participating in local house and public sessions since the early 1980s. At that time Vonnie, with her husband John along with their session friends, attended an Old Songs dance music workshop series given by fiddler George Wilson. Currently she attends sessions and plays for contra and barn dances and regularly participate in festivals and sessions in 'la belle province'. In various lineups,Vonnie has performed at the Capital Region of New York State's Flurry Festival, Gottagetgon Festival and Jam and Sing Thing.

Nancy Bakemeier (fiddle) Began playing the violin in elementary school and continued into college. After a hiatus in the Navy she began playing fiddle after attending several folk concerts and festivals. Nancy was an active member of the Susquehanna Folk Music Society and played several festivals and events. After moving to the Adirondacks in early 2000 she started attending the Celtic jams at the Parting Glass Pub and continues to do so. Nancy has also played for events and dances in the Northern NY area and Northern Vermont. On occasions she plays the viola but prefers the violin.
