Ever curious about what draping is and want to learn more? Curious about fashion or costume design and wonder how people make patterns from drawings? This is the perfect time to get a glimpse into the world of draping (using fabric on a dress form to create patterns for sewing). This lecture and demo will include information on what draping is, what tools are involved, how to set up a dress form and the basics of creating a pattern from nothing! Ask questions and see it all in action! Sophie has been draping for 13+ years and was trained at Carnegie Mellon University in the graduate program for Costume Production. She has worked in the theater industry making costumes for Disney, Broadway, television, and more! Come see what it's all about!
