I've been building a new solo concert experience for nearly 3 years and am thrilled to debut it on Friday, April 19.
A bit of backstory: What does "building" mean?
I've toured quite heavily since 2010 in North America and Europe, either with my band or alone with an acoustic guitar. I've been a solo performer since 2018, but began to miss the energy and interaction of having other instrumentalists on stage.
So I thought: why not create a show that allows quiet moments to grow into big, expansive orchestration?
Technology saved the day. The concert you'll see on the 19th is a meticulously designed performance that blends my favorite parts of solo musicianship with cascading loops of bass, drums, guitar, and synths.
It's been a long journey. I believe I've put in over 1000 hours on it. Releasing it is scary but extremely exciting, and there's no turning back now. So please come and enjoy!
This show will be in the upstairs concert hall at Parker Pie, a beautiful listening room with a lot of history in its timbers. Cavan Meese will be designing a light show for the concert.
