Guilford Center Stage opens its 2024 season with the first of two productions this year featuring work of Vermont playwrights.

"Love Lost Diaries", a short play by Marc Considine, will be performed at Broad Brook Community Center May 3-5. Julie Holland directs this bittersweet comedy which Considine, a high school drama coach in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, wrote for his students as their entry in a regional theater festival. Three high school students have an interesting after-school pastime: They watch the obits and break into unoccupied houses looking for spare cash. In this story, they are pulled into the lives of the deceased couple.

A cast of eight area actors is featured in this show, with Nina Bond as stage manager, tech and scenic work guided by Katia Morosan and Ada Brown. Don McLean is producer of this, Guilford Center Stage's 12th production.

Broad Brook Community Center is fully ADA-accessible, with an elevator to the second floor theater space. Tickets $14 at the door, or you may visit Brown Paper Tickets at bpt.me/6247266
