Saturday, April 6th: the first Montpelier Contra Dance of the month! We're confident that the snow will be cleared well before the dance. Please join us for another great dance, with calling by Julian Blechner, and music by another favorite Vermont-based band: Frost and Fire! This band includes Hollis Easter on bagpipes, flute, guitar, mandolin and whistles, Aaron Marcus on keyboards, concertina and banjo, Viveka Fox on fiddle, bodhran and djembe, and Peter Macfarlane on fiddle and low whistles--the really big ones.
Julian will teach an instruction/refresher session starting about 7:40, so aim to get to the Capital City Grange Hall about 7:30 to change your shoes, or clean them really well to protect our beautiful dance floor. The Grange Hall is located at 6612 VT 12, Berlin VT 05602, about 1 mile south of Montpelier. We'll have dancing from 8:00 to 11:00 PM, with a brief break midway through.
Admission: choose the price that matches you--$12 for regular adult-type people, $5 for kids or low-income people, or $20 if you want to help us pay the band, caller and sound really well!
