Central Vermont's local bluegrass band, The VT Bluegrass Pioneers, will be returning to Bent Nails Bistro this Fri Apr 5 from 7 - 8:30. One 90 minute show. No cover, but donations appreciated. The Pioneers have been together for 8 plus years and consist of the Lindner brothers, Banjo Dan and Willy, plus Danny Coane and Sam Blagden. The Lindners were founders and main members of "Banjo Dan & the Mid-Nite Plowboys", one of Vermont's premier bluegrass bands for 40 yrs (1972-2012). Sam Blagden was their bass man during the 70's. And Montpelier native Danny Coane, with 60 yrs of professional musical experience under his belt, is still a member of The WDEV Radio Rangers (since 1993), but was also with The Starline Rhythm Boys for 24 yrs and TheThrobulators for 10, as well as a member of many other bands. The VT Bluegrass Pioneers are a "real-deal" bluegrass band playing material from the 50's and 60's, as well as more contemporary numbers and also some originals. Even though a snow storm is expected, things should be good to go for Friday night. Would like to see y'all out for this one. Thanks.
