Yes!
Thanks to support from the congregations of Grace United Methodist and New Journey Fellowship, we are beginning a WEEKLY COMMUNITY MEAL on Friday evenings at the stonewall church.
Come and join the Community Meal on Friday, April 5th, at 6pm.
Following the same model as the Marshfield Community Meal, our core volunteer team will provide organic beans and rice and pasta and red sauce. Folks are welcome to bring anything else they like! Well water, tea, veggies, dessert, bread, cheese, soup, etc. Contributions are absolutely not required. We aim to provide for all who need.
We'd be grateful for community involvement:
Bring a lamp to help light the space --- if we get enough lamps, we don't need to use the overhead fluorescent lights! Bring a table cloth? Flowers? Warm ambiance is good for digestion :-)
If you want to help with setup and cleanup, see our online volunteer task list: https://ethercalc.net/0mvc79ejbdmk
This is an open document for anyone to add their names. It saves and updates automatically.
We have a gift card at the Plainfield Coop --- the name is "Plainfield Community Meal"
If you want to contribute financially, you can add money to the account. If you want to cook food for the meal, you can use the account.
Grace United Methodist is asking for contributions to pay for the building's utilities --- we will have a basket to collect donations.
And if you are able-bodied, please consider leaving your car at the Rec field or the ParkNRide because parking may be tight.
